You should see the version spread of Microsoft Teams on macOS devices reduce significantly with more devices running on the latest released versions of Teams.Įxpect to see updates for Teams appearing in Microsoft AutoUpdate. We will begin rolling this out in mid-March and expect to complete rollout late March. If your organization is not using macOS devices with the Teams desktop application, you can safely disregard this message.Upon their next usage, macOS devices that are running versions of Teams below the latest fully released version will now receive updates via Microsoft Auto-Update where applicable.We will be leveraging Microsoft AutoUpdate to update versions of Teams that may not have been updating due to usage patterns that do not allow the Teams built-in update logic to run its full update process. You may have encountered issues where devices were running old versions of Teams that were not updating. This will reduce the number of devices running versions of Teams that are older or no longer supported. We will be making an addition to the Microsoft Teams update logic to include auxiliary updates via Microsoft AutoUpdate.
